There was a man who had been blind since birth. He approached Jesus to be healed and the disciples wondered who in his family had sinned to cause the man’s blindness.
John 9:3 says:
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” Jesus said, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
God’s grace is in the imperfect. God’s strength is found when things don’t go right.
It’s never going to be perfect. It’s never going to be 100% fair. God is not seen in the perfect but the mess. God is seen most when there’s a lot of ugly involved. Can you get up after a heart break? Can you stand when everything around you crumbles? If so, you’re displaying the grace and strength of God.
God doesn’t always prevent or block. Sometimes He has to make you go through the trial to rid yourself of idealistic notions. You were created for heaven, you’re just not there yet. You’re on earth where people are flawed and things get caught in the fire.
But God allows you to go through the fire to show you that because Christ is inside you, you can withstand the heat. Don’t run away from the mess. Run toward it. Stand and let God use you today.
